I’ve purchased two now – first on 2023-01-22 and the next just now on 2023-02-25. The second one is to “try my luck” of sorts.
The first one worked fine but seems to have suddenly started giving issues. Less than a month. The problem is it keeps shutting off by itself. It’s fully submerged and there’s no blockage or debris, but it seems to be shutting off. Checked and double checked but nothing. It does work – mostly – but I figured maybe I just got a bad one.
The product has lots of good reviews and is the current #1 item in the category – so I’ve gotten a second one to see whether or not I just had bad luck. Hopefully the next one will do better and not shut off randomly. It does seem to come back on – not sure if it’s overheating for some reason…
Still giving it 4 stars because it works great when it does work. Will review the next one fully when I get it and test.

After writing them about the failures I received a full refund for both. It works really well when it does – but there just may be some issues with the one you get. The customer service is excellent though – so you could either get a refund if you’re so inclined or have them send a replacement.

My fountain (5 foot x 3 foot x 30 inches deep with water) is for my dogs (I have big dogs) to cool off in and just chill out on a typical hot day in my neck of the woods. The fountain is shaded by multiple deciduous trees and set against a wall of bougainvillea – as such it fills with leaves constantly which stops the flow to the fountain’s head spout. Pumps burn out if not clean twice daily. This pump has solved my problem. Even with leaf debris sucking up against it still can get water through to help cool itself and at a minimum produce a small constant flow keeping the water circulating and fresh for the dogs. I would recommend this pump to anyone on price point, performance and durability.

Sound level is very good for a pump of this flow. I bought it to use in a Low-Pressure Aeroponics setup – emphasis on learning about LPA without breaking the bank. The outside casing makes it look like about 50 other water pumps carrying various names at similar price points and advertised flow rates, but it puts out more than twice the water of a nearly identical-looking 640GPH pump, and my misting heads can be tightened enough to produce very fine mist without stopping the flow altogether.
This little 800GPH pump is likely a little less powerful than it claims, as the lift height is stated at 10′, and at 6′ the water flow is quite restricted. But for a small, cheap “testing” setup, it works great even with 10 misting heads on 1/4″ PEC irrigation tubing. The fittings seat and seal well on the pump outlet, and a spare suction cup is included in the box. Also of interest, the noise level is actually lower than my 640GPH pump.
Wattage is as specified, with very occasional increase/decrease, and connecting it to my 1500VA/900W UPS system barely increases the load, dropping the 450-minute “unloaded” reserve capacity by just 12 minutes. Running only this pump on it I would have more than 7 hours of water flow if the power goes out.
The pump itself is about twice the size of the 640GPH, and more than twice the weight. Mounting it to the side of a reservoir requires an absolute minimum water depth of 5.5″, and with a “Y” splitter in the outlet for balanced pressure in a looped irrigation setup I recommend placing one of the nipples on the pump outlet and using tubing to connect the splitter so you can lay the splitter flat in your reservoir and place the pump upright on the bottom as there are water intakes that must both be submerged on both ends of the pump. Using 1/4″ irrigation tubing without a cap and free-flowing, the inlet flow control at the front makes no noticeable difference in the amount of water flow, so if precision flow is required you’ll need inline valves, but for my setup, adjusting the misting heads is enough.
So far, I’m quite impressed with this little guy, and no longer worried about finding my plants dead from lack of hydration or nutrients. If it lasts awhile, this will have been a great buy – one I highly recommend for smaller LPA hydroponics setups or even a 3-bucket tower or up to 10-bucket Dutch Bucket system.
At this price point, I can keep a couple of these on the shelf in case of failure, and if they last 6 months or more in use, they’ll be well worth the cost.

It works well for me without buying any additional accessories.

I have done multiple tests to validate this pump for my needs (not aquarium)
First test: was to see if the max lift is really 10 feet. The answer is no, it is Max of 9ft with a very slight trickle, maybe 1 gallon a hour at 9 feet lift.
Second test: flow rate with a 6 foot lift through different diameter tubes.
3/8 inch inner diameter tube with a lift of 6 feet: 60 gallons per hour.
1/2 inch inner diameter tube with a lift of 6 feet: 120 gallons per hour.
1 inch inner diameter tube with a lift of 4 feet (sorry didn’t have 6 foot): 300 gallons per hour.
Both tests done with 3/8 and 1/2 inch tube were ran though a total of 12 foot before they exited at 6 foot lift.
I also measured the power draw for each test.
3/8 tube : 23.8 watts
1/2 tube : 26.6 watts
1 inch tube : 29 watts (only 4 foot lift)
Sound level is low and for my application is a non issue.
Overall: the pump is nice, as long as you do not require high lifts this pump should do good. Flow rates improved a lot at lower lifts but I do not care about that since my application requires 6 foot. I would consider 6 foot to be the max USABLE lift and 9 foot the max lift but with almost zero flow.
The pump construction seems nice and sturdy. The 3 included hose fittings screw in nice and are sturdy. The suction cups are strong enough to lift a empty 5 gallon bucket off the ground (2-3 pounds).

My little pump is 3yrs old and has been used and abused. I initially bought it to use for aquarium water changes but it has been used for everything now. Our sump pump went out so I threw it in the sump basin as a temporary measure. The pit runs dry and the pump never skips a beat. It could be days of no water and not turning it off and when there’s water again, it’ll work perfect like nothing happened. This thing is awesome and worth every penny.

Great, cheap, quiet little pump. I attached a garden hose to it by just cutting off the female fitting on the hose and it fits perfectly on the included hose barb. I use it to pump rain water out of a trash can to water plants. Does not quite have the pressure though for larger scale garden irrigation systems with the little spray attachments.
PEGGY PETERS –
This little pump has strong suction. It is a go getter. I think it is the best sucking pump I have bought. I have not had it for very long to know how long it will last. If it last long at all I will be very happy. The power this little thing has is amazing. The suction cup grips are also strong. They really hold onto a smooth service. So far I am shocked at the power this thing has. I will update on how long it last.

Cheap, easy, and seems to hold up. Have one over a year old and still works great. Doesn’t warm up the reservoir. New one seems to be just as good. Highly recommend.

This is an excellent pump. Powerful and easy to set up and to control the flow. Comes with a variety of connections to attach pump to your fountain. Better than many pumps I have bought in the past for over $100.
